Spam filters are designed to protect your inbox from unwanted messages. However, sometimes legitimate emails get flagged and blocked by these filters.
Many email services automatically move suspicious messages to this folder instead of blocking them outright.
How to Find the Spam Folder:
-
Gmail: On the left sidebar, scroll down and click on "More" to reveal the "Spam" folder.
-
Outlook: In the folder pane, select "Junk Email."
-
Yahoo Mail: Look for the "Spam" folder in the left menu.
If you find the email, mark it as "Not Spam" to help ensure similar emails go to your inbox in the future.
Adding the sender's email address to your contacts can signal to your email provider that their messages are safe.
How to Add Contacts:
-
Gmail: Open the email, click the three dots (More) icon, and select "Add [Sender] to contacts list."
-
Outlook: Right-click the sender’s name in the email and choose "Add to Outlook Contacts."
-
Yahoo Mail: Click on the sender’s name and select "Add to Contacts."
If you expect multiple emails from us, whitelisting their domain can be effective.
Instructions:
-
Gmail: Create a filter using the domain (scotlandsearch.org.uk) and select "Never send it to Spam."
-
Outlook: Add the domain to your safe senders list under Settings > Junk Email.
-
Yahoo Mail: Navigate to Security and Privacy settings to manage blocked or trusted domains.
